Goa’s rich and storied history has conjured a culinary culture that draws on a wide range of influences from both India’s rich culinary tradition as well as those of Europe – not only Portugal but also France. Over three days, our experienced guides will lead Members on a deep dive, unearthing irresistible delights on a specially curated Secret Food & Tavern Trail, as well as exploring the techniques behind some of the state’s most iconic dishes so you can create them at home!

ITINERARY

DAY 1 – TUESDAY, 25 JUNE 2024

Check in at Karma Royal Monterio. Welcome Dinner with the group featuring exquisitely prepared Goa classics.

DAY 2 – WEDNESDAY, 26 JUNE 2024

After breakfast, join our tour leader Shailesh on an afternoon tour to the Latin Quarter of Panjim and a secret culinary adventure hidden in plain sight – evading most tourists that visit Goa. Unearth a side of Goa with our specially curated Secret Food and Tavern trail organised in association with Soul Travelling – Goa’s finest storytellers! Try local sweets, savoury snacks – perhaps Goa’s best Chicken Xacuti!

DAY 3 – THURSDAY, 27 JUNE 2024

After breakfast, we’ll ead down South with Matilda, our Resort GM and resident of the quaint coastal village of Betalbatim as we explore the lost art of making ‘Pao’ in her neighbouring village – Majorda. Bread-making in Goa is a traditional occupation and the famous ‘poder’ – bread man is much revered in local Goan society. Join local experts from Soul Travelling as we spend time with the local ‘poder’ in his traditional bakery – kneading and baking ‘poi’, making your own Panino from a ‘poi’ giving it an Italian twist and visiting the local cargo railway station in Majorda.
