Some of Bali’s most fascinating traditions are found far beyond its beaches.
This immersive cultural journey takes members into the heart of Sidemen, where generations of Balinese families have perfected the art of making Arak – the island’s traditional palm spirit. Witness skilled harvesters climb towering palm trees, taste freshly collected palm sap straight from the source and follow the fascinating process that transforms it into one of Bali’s most iconic drinks.
Alongside the Arak experience, discover the centuries-old craft of traditional sea salt making in Kusamba and enjoy local cuisine surrounded by the spectacular rice terraces of Sidemen. Thoughtfully curated from beginning to end, the experience offers a rare glimpse into the traditions, craftsmanship and flavours that continue to shape rural Bali today.

DAY 1 WEDNESDAY 20 JANUARY 2027
- 2:00 PM: Check in at Karma Royal Candidasa
- 6:30 PM: Welcome dinner
DAY 2 THURSDAY 21 JANUARY 2027
- 7:30 AM: Breakfast
- 9:00 AM: Depart for Sidemen Village
- 10:30 AM: Traditional Arak-making experience and tasting
- 12:30 PM: Lunch overlooking the rice fields of Sidemen
- 3:00 PM: Visit traditional sea salt makers in Kusamba
- 4:00 PM: Return to the resort
- 6:30 PM: Communal dinner
DAY 3 FRIDAY 22 JANUARY 2027
- 8:00 AM: Breakfast
- 10:00 AM: Check out and departures

- All bookings are non-transferable and may not be sold, assigned or transferred to another individual or member once confirmed.
- The attendee names provided at time of booking must be the exact attendees at the event, unless explicit approval is granted by Karma Concierge.
- All membership fees must be current at both the time of booking and the date of the event in order to attend. Refund of any monies / points used will be given subject to a minimum of 30 days notice being given.
